April
Fools' Day is about more than playing jokes, tricks and pranks.
That's just the most fun part of the day! Check out why we're all so
mischievous on April 1st. The custom of setting aside a day for the
playing of harmless pranks upon one's neighbor is recognized
everywhere. We’re Dekho network, and we hate fun. Just kidding! But
we are here to warn you not to fall for April Fools’ Day pranks.
You’re welcome.
April
Fools' practical jokes should be done in good fun and not meant to
harm anyone. The best jokes are the clever ones where everyone
laughs, especially the person who had the joke played on them.
- Put food coloring in milk.
- Superglue coins to a sidewalk. This works best on an old, worn sidewalk.
- Go with a couple of friends, stand near some busy street corner - stare and point up at the sky. Watch the reactions of people around you!
Historians
have also linked April Fools’ Day to ancient festivals such as
Hilaria, which was celebrated in Rome at the end of March and
involved people dressing up in disguises. There’s also speculation
that April Fools’ Day was tied to the vernal equinox, or first day
of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, when Mother Nature fooled
people with changing, unpredictable weather. n modern times, people
have gone to great lengths to create elaborate April Fools’ Day
hoaxes. Newspapers, radio and TV stations and Web sites have
participated in the April 1 tradition of reporting outrageous
fictional claims that have fooled their audiences. The problem with
the modern April Fool's is that pranks are so thoroughly embedded
into our culture that a day specifically devoted to them can almost
see redundant. The attention paid to April fool’s Day by the media
is proof that we all enjoy being taken for a ride. These are troubled
times. It's good to have a day when a bit of anarchic fun is
officially sanctioned. A bucket of water atop the boss's door will
surely amuse even the most po-faced colleague.
We
at Dekho network wish you a great day of pranks, to have fun out of
those boring 365 days.
